Soie de Lune

Embracing the theme of modernity and tradition started by his grandmother in Laos in the 1950’s, French born Anou Thammavong and his English business partner Daniel Marcus started Soie de Lune.

Their philosophy was to create luxurious hand-woven silks using time honored weaving techniques that have all but died out in Laos in particular and South East Asia as a whole. The laborious process of preparing the silk together with the complex skills needed to weave it, produce fabrics of unsurpassed quality and unlike anything in the world.

Always looking to expand on this ancient craft, Anou and Daniel have also created  innovative and technologically sophisticated machine-woven interpretations of some of these same designs, combining linen and silk and cotton and silk and introduced in 2012.

With a passion to not only create and offer a product of remarkable beauty and quality in the market place, Soie de Lune feels a responsibility to respect our environment and support the craftsmen and women and their families. Their hope is that this shared humanity permeates everything they do. SoiedeLune.com
